This session is a series of five, 5 minute lightning talks each followed by 5 mins of informal chat/questions.

The idea is to present snippets of topics that are Stuff You Should Know About (hence SYSKA) and based on interest could be turned into a full session at a later date

So come along and hopefully find out about something new and useful for you!

Current topics and presenters:

Tom Kelly - Visualisation in R: Colours Mik Black - Mixtures of normals: how to stir the pot Riku Takei - Using Vim with LaTeX Amara Shaukat - Association Analyses in R Murray - Bioconductor: Genomic Features and Annotations in R

Copied from original issue: smilefreak/studyGroup#18

This round we have a few topics and presenters thought of and will confirm at HackyHour today

Absolutely feel free to offer up topics you might like to hear about or present on yourself and we'll try to include in either this session or a future one

Unless there any requests or objections, my topic will be visualization in R focusing on colours and Rcolorbrewer.

This is mostly just to make sure the speakers have chosen different topics. :)

It would be awesome if you could all upload your presentations into the lessons directory in the repo. Just fork and create a pull request with your lesson. @TomKellyGenetics and RIku
