XCF thumbnails only show one layer from image #7

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create GIMP XCF file with more than one layer
2. Save
3. View thumnail in explorer using sagethumbs

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to see a thumbnail of the entire image, instead I see the
contents of only a single layer with any transparent areas filled with black.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0.0.12, Windows 7 32-bit

Please provide any additional information below.
See screenshot - only top layers containing highlights show in thumbnail.

showing: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewforum.php?f=4

A temporary workaround is to copy the contents of all the layers in one layer
and then place it as the topmost layer and save it which if you have no
transparent area the thumbnail should display correct 99.9% of the time.

@RedGo that's a nice little workaround (TY) and fairly simple (4 quick steps)
for point forward but what about all the other 'layered' images I've got?

I've been looking but haven't seen anything to help view a 'layered image' as a
thumb.
