Top led's and trigger led makes a gate voltage sound whenever they blink #10

So I´ve had the Chord organ module for about one month now. It was working fine but sometimes it would suddenly go quiet and then after 1-10 minutes it would go back to full volume. But today once I got another module (2hp vca) the volume went down, and wouldn´t go back up. And then every time any of the leds would blink a sorta blip noise would be made and when i had the extra wave forms on the firmware, when ever i was one the second or third page of wave forms the leds would blink and make sound similar to the trigger out sound. It would also make an obnoxious hum too I tried re-looking at solder joints, redoing the firmware, and adjusting the volume on the blue box but nothing works. Please help.

Could you be running low on power? If you remove the 2hp module, does it work normally? Also see if the fuses (yellow things behind to the power header) get seriously hot to touch (be careful!) while it's in use?

The chord organ and the 2hp vca are the only powered modules in the euro rack. (sorry i should´ve said that in my first post). I was also using a microbrute to control the chord organ and I had the microbrute still sending pitch signals to the chord organ for a bit after i turned off the eurorack, could that have caused the problem maybe?

That shouldn't have damaged anything. What are you using to listen to the modules - what is the output connected to?

I was using a pretty crummy old sony srs-37 speaker and then i also tried using my razer kraken headphones. The sony speakers weren´t acting weird with my phone, and when i tried the krakens the first day i got this module it was significantly louder before

If you remove the 2hp module, what happens - does the Chord Organ work as normal?

GeorgeTheSlayer commented 7 years ago

nope, no difference

GeorgeTheSlayer commented 7 years ago

is it possible that when i installed the 2hp module, the power cable of the chord organ was pretty close to the 2hp board, maybe something short circuited there? or maybe something shorted just on the main part of the chord organ and broke the ic or some other component?

After testing for a little while, if you have the 2hp module next to the chord organ you can hear the trigger click through the 2hp even when it isn´t connected. I also have the bastl propust, and if you have that module nearby and touch the front panel it will create more noise. it will also do the same if you touch the front of the chord organ.
