Teensy is working and blinking but the module doesn`t blink or make a sound other than popping noises. #153

Hey Tom thanks for the awesome modules you are making. Hey others, thanks for the help offered here :)

The TEENSY is blinking and test programs for it worked fine. But the module only does a little popping noise every time a reset CV is going in. The LEDs don't blink either. Tried taking the SD-Card out to see them blink, no reaction whatsoever.

Also and this is really weird, it does a little louder popping noise that seems to to be synchronized to the TEENSY LED blinking.

Hi,

Some questions:

Are you powering via USB or the eurorack bus? Did you cut the Teensy power trace?

If you don't insert the SD card and boot up are any LEDs flashing?

Did you follow the guidelines for structuring the folders on the SD card?

Thanks

Steve

Hi David, Hi Steve,

since I have the same issue I wanted to ask, if there are any news. I did follow the guidelines for structuring the folders on the SD card.

Unfortunately right now I can't tell if there are LEDs flashing without the SD. I have to replace the IC first since one leg is broken. I was also not 100% sure which way around the IC must sit on the board so I tried to switch it around. Now I have to buy a new one first.

Is this the right one to buy?

Thanks for help in advance.

Mark

Hi,

The original post you're replying to was really not clear, so it's hard to understand what the same issue might be.

Can you post a video of what is happening please, then take the front panel off the module and post photos of both sides of both PCB and the Teensy and we can see what is happening.

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve, thank you very much for your quick reply.

I will gladly send photos tomorrow. Right now my Radio Music is. missing its IC because one leg broke 2 hours ago. So I think a video doesn’t make sense until I have a new IC, but then I will also do the video.

I can try to explain what was happening before the IC leg broke:

The only thing that I could see was working was a blinking light of the teensy.

As I listend to the signal form the output of the Radio Music I could only hear a repeating click in the same frequency as the blinking light of the teensy.

Thanks for your help Best Mark

Hi Mark,

That typically means there is a problem with one or more of these things:

1) the formatting of the SD Card 2) the soldering of the SD card socket 3) the soldering of the various headers which connect the SD card to the teensy inputs.

Steve

Hi Steve,

Here are all the pictures. I hope you can find the problem. I also wanted to make sure if this is the right IC to buy: https://www.chipandlove.ch/de/startseite/218-quad-operational-amplifiers-tl074cn-0000000000218.html https://www.chipandlove.ch/de/startseite/218-quad-operational-amplifiers-tl074cn-0000000000218.html < https://www.chipandlove.ch/de/startseite/218-quad-operational-amplifiers-tl074cn-0000000000218.html https://www.chipandlove.ch/de/startseite/218-quad-operational-amplifiers-tl074cn-0000000000218.html> ?

Hi Mark,

That typically means there is a problem with one or more of these things:

1) the formatting of the SD Card 2) the soldering of the SD card socket 3) the soldering of the various headers which connect the SD card to the teensy inputs.

Hi,

The original post you're replying to was really not clear, so it's hard to understand what the same issue might be.

Can you post a video of what is happening please, then take the front panel off the module and post photos of both sides of both PCB and the Teensy and we can see what is happening.

Regards

Mark
