Avatars (for books or other entries) should be not only file-researchable (so you can put your own files), but also there should be a way to search through Google Images or something. Therefore, it'd store either URL to the image, or download the image to the computer (there should be setting for that in settings).

Additionally, there can be sort of customisable generator for images, as third option (suggestion by Adiabat), similarly to Calibre.
