[Faction Quest] Getting Into Thieves Guild #58

Open Toma400 opened 2 years ago

This quest is taken directly from BSaL, even though in original game it was bugged, so it wasn't really a way to enter Thieves Guild. Although, taking game code in mind, it is possible to recreate the quest.

Location: Evros Port

Description: When you get close to warehouse, you will get asked silently by someone about "job". If you agree on it, that person will ask you to bring silk bales from inside, giving you few lockpicks to use and telling you to do it during night*. The difference should be, I think, that you will be able to sneak also during day, but it will mean you getting arrested (there's no point on 'guessing' with clock system anymore, so sneaking just to check if nighttime came makes no sense).

When you get into and open the chest, you can get silk bales and money. Later, you will find your mandator near warehouse, and if you bring silk to him, he will tell you about recommendation he made for you. Additionally, he will tell you about someone you need to contact with this recommendation. (in BSaL, the person sent us to Hrevir in Baedoor, therefore I assume that this quest were not meant to continue on Ansur whatsoever)

Alternative way for this quest is to report the crime proposal to guards, which will disallow you to join Thieves Guild, but guard will give you some money as a reward. Lore-wise, the person who gave you the mission will not be hurt, as he is specialised with such situations and need to adjust to his "new members" when they are too righteous.

-- *It additionally brings interesting matter if sneaking chance should be affected by daytime/nighttime

Note to self: Ansur Thieves Guild does not resemble typical Thieves Guild in West Baedoor, even though it is connected. Ansur is actually sort of shelter for Thieves Guild headmasters, and they reign over Evros port a bit like a mafia - hence, joining the guild will not result on typical thievery, but more on guild wars and things related to it.
