I've decided to wait for the resolution of https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/244211253 for now, so that this library and upstream won't diverge too widely.

It will not be soon, and it is unlikely, they would like to write such replies :(

Maybe you can create another branch with this realization? Because i really need this a lot..
