When selecting a .mhd file as input, interface hangs with no progress bar #199

I gave 2 .mhd files which referenced .npy files.

After selecting each file, the interface hung for 5+ seconds (not responding) before listing 'reference.mha' and 'correlate.mha' on the interface, without any progress dialog.
