window size/position not remembered #724

when i start the gui it doesn't always remember how it was positioned or 
resized when i last closed it. seems to be recurrent. was the same problem in 
v4 now in v5.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. seems to happen randomly

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the window size and position to be the same through out restarts of the gui. if 
it was full screen then it hsould open the same, not off to the side and down.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
