Empty diagrams with null-valued errors #7

Open mood-man opened 5 years ago

mood-man commented 5 years ago

Hello I am having an issue where the .csv files are created but the generate diagram step results in a diagram with one line on each page. The PS window contains hundreds of errors similar to: t C:_admin\vDiagram2.0-master\vDiagram2.0-master\vDiagram_2.0.9.ps1:6632 char:78

I am using Visio 2010 with VCenter 6.5. Any help would be appreciated.

I am traveling to Phoenix right now to present on this tomorrow. Maybe Jason can help you. Here are some things to check:

  1. Did you unblock the zip file before running?
  2. Are you running admin?
  3. Did the shapes file get copied to your my shapes folder?

Thanks! I believe the issue is with Visio 2010 and .vssx file compatibility. I’m upgrading to Visio 2016 now to see if that resolves things.

We had tested this with Visio 2010 on previous versions without issue, but have not been able to test current release against it. I no longer have 2010 to test with, and I believe Tony is on 2016 as well.

Let us know if upgrading corrects the issue, and we'll get it noted in the release notes.

mood-man commented 5 years ago

It appears that issue was Visio 2010. VSSX files are only compatible with Visio 2013 and above. After the upgrade to Viso 2016 everything is working normally. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay on my side. 2010 will not work. We changed that a few revisions ago to help with the output file size.

Good Afternoon,

First off, wanted to thank you, as this is a life savor!

I am having Similar issue:

  1. I am running Powershell as Admin
  2. Unblocked Files before unzipping
  3. Moved the vDiagram_2.0.9.vssx into My shapes folder (Did not go there automatically)

Still no visio output. Attaching Screen shot:
