The profile can change :

theme
where to find files
black list
audio output
and more ...
Please provide context on why you'd like this related to #22

In streaming, you can't really listen to copyrighted music, but in private you can, and having a profile can really make a difference.
On a family PC, each member of the family can listen to his or her own song, without having access to all the other family members' songs.
