Add API support for Trending Topics lists #172

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
API access to the Trending topics list, currently only returned after a google+
search within the portal, would be an extremely useful addition.

The API list could be controlled through a number of different parameters:

* geographically (e.g. give me only the trends in the UK)
* time-based (default: current, param: chosen date-time)

Assumptions:
Trends are ranked by popularity in the list
(Could possibly have duration the topic term has been trending for)

I would really like to see this feature added. Is there any plan for this yet?

This doesn't fix the issue within the api, but I made this a few months back
because I was having the same problem. Still works even after the G+ redesign.
Should be easy to add in until the api's functionality works.

This would benefit me also. Otherwise I have to some scraping and implementing
on my own terms.
