Activity Comment Plugin #213

A Google provided plugin that allows a website to make a comment on an activity
from a widget on a remote domain.

This would be an iframe plugin like the +1 Button and Badge that would require
an activity id to target a particular activity and add a comment to it.

The plugin would require a text box for the comment, a "Post Comment" button
and a Cancel button.

Because there is a read API, it is not needed to show posted comments in the
same widget; just a way to post to an activity from offsite.

It would be nice to have a few styling choices especially background color and
no border to fit the plugin with the theme of the website.

I do not think this plugin is the answer most developers are looking for. We
truly want Google to open the write API's so that our applications can be fully
integrated into Google+ and vice versa.

Vic Gundotra has stated, "I am going to release [the write] API when we are
confident we will not screw over developers." As a developer, this makes me
feel safe that once we get a write API, it will have a long shelf life. As time
passes and no sign of a write API, it is disconcerting and feels we may never
get one.

I am confident that Google+ is the product that will integrate social media and
the Internet. I want the write API but I also want it done correctly and I
thank Google for taking steps to give us the best product they can give us.

I feel that the Activity Comments plugin would bridge the gap and allow more
interaction with Google+ and still allow Google to control how the activity
streams are fed.

You can accomplish this with the embedded posts widget:
