API to Embed Hangout Videos in Another Application #28

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
We would like the ability to embed Google Hangouts inside an application. We
also think that it would be good to support HTML5 technologies and the DEVICE
HTML element.

It would be a killing G+ feature. \o/

Can you see a future where a e-learning system will be featured with a
Synchronous Online Course without an overpriced Adobe Connect contract?

If Google can provide a JavaScript Google Maps embedded API and earn money with
it, I think Google can do the same with Google+ Hangout!

Thanks

This feature like youtube kind of html embedd would make this platform really
take off with life of its own.

I can't believe hangouts do not yet have an embed feature. This limits its
usability to a small fraction of its potential.

Google engineers. Get on this :)

I think this feature would add a lot of value to hangout. I saw it was embedded
on the President's site for a hangout.

I don't doubt this would be even more bandwidth intensive, but it would be a
fantastic feature on my website. I wouldn't be apposed to Google Ad sense ads
to offset the costs.

Original comment by chrismcc...@gmail.com on 12 Mar 2012 at 10:46

This feature would be amazing. Would at least like to add a link on my website
that shows a hangout is in progress, and lets the user join the live hangout
from that external site.

Yes, if this feature was rolled out it would give google a market lead edge in
the live multiple video conference field. Will there be a beta rollout soon?

I too could benefit greatly by being able to embed the hangout on my site much
like how google calendars can be embedded.

This would be the most awesome enhancement! Can you imagine the number of
small businesses that would consider further integrating the Google suite of
products into their operations?

Original comment by tx.dbe...@gmail.com on 6 Apr 2012 at 2:37

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Yes this would be a great option. Starting a hangout from my application will
be awesome. Of course hangout will help SMB's to leave the costly
Webex/Citrix..etc . Guys meetings.io has already started this. Please don't
loss the biggest opportunity here

I engineer large and complex online communities for clients like Yale
University, the Garrison Institute, and currently a movie-making community site
(in-progress).
This single embeddable feature would transform the web. You could still meter,
etc etc, but the power of the internet would become incandescent if we can add
tools that permit remote collaboration and teams using Hangouts and the coming
tidal wave of apps for it.
PLEASE, we beg and plead and offer cheese sandwiches! Make this happen. We'll
be your best friends and let you ride our stingray banana-seat bicycle.
