Follow Button callback

Can we get a callback attribute for the follow button.  Currently there is one 
for the Google Plus button but not the follow button.

The call back is necessary for activating content when an action is performed 
such as thanking the user.  For the Follow button it would be useful to 
immediately recommend the user check specific content you've shared with your 
followers circle.  Immediately getting the user engaged would go a long way 
towards continually checking the feed.

If someone found an alternative please share. What I tried was simply to detect 
the click on the follow button by adding onclick listener to the wrapping div. 
But this is not working, I believe it is due to the iframe where the button 
resides... Any thoughts are welcome.
