In Android L there is no gallery application. Instead of using the gallery 
application hou will now neef tot use the Google+ Photos application.

The problem is that when you don't want to use the Google+ application anf you 
disable it, the Google+ Photos application will alsof be disabled.

So disabling the Google+ application should not affect the Google+ Photos 
application. Another solution could be making the Android Documents application 
visible and maybe adding some features so it could alsof replace the gallery 
application.
