Continues from http://www.totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/14034/local-chat-msgr-message-radius - This is Windows_i7_920's idea, not mine :)

/msgr [radius] [msg] or /msgr [msg] or /msgr [radius]

The idea is simple... a command to send a chat message to everyone within of sender. It could be useful for asking people to leave an area for example. It could also be used by people to roleplay without affecting the entire chat. If only a radius is specified, it sets the radius to use for when the sender uses the command without specifying a radius.

I like this now finally we admins can role play without affecting admin chat and chat and also for OPs can now do it without affecting chat if this was created :)

Should this also be able to pre-empt normal chat? In other words, you activate local chat / "whisper" mode, and can then chat via standard chat messages - only it will come out as local chat. If nobody is in range, it will let you know that nobody can hear you.

How's that sound?

I quite like that idea, @StevenLawson. It would save time to not have to type a command every time you want to say something local.

I'm not sure if we really want/need this. Any thoughts?

Just enable the essentials setting... It would reduce server wide spam and would be the easiest option.
