Wildcard name-ban #531

Sometimes spambots have a specific pattern to their name. This latest case it was: Y3ll0w_J4ck3t##

With ## being a random number. So, I think this could be exploited to be able to ban them all at once.

For example, banning: Y3ll0w_J4ck3t*

Would be handy to have some sort of command based restriction for seniors to use like

/rangeban Y3llow_J4ck3t***

Then until the server is reloaded / restarted that range ban is implemented.

Would be nice, but, needs senior restrictions as stated above.

I agree. I could see this ending badly if supers could use it.

Seems like a good addiction I think it should have to be ran through Console(Or telnet) so Telnet+ or senior, but either way this should be added.

Vouch, and there should also be an IP range ban command. The IP range ban would be good for ban bypassers.

Y3llow is a spam advertiser. By the time we do /rangeban he would already left the game waiting to do it again. He comes and go really fast. He joins, spam in 1 sec left and repeat it again. We won't be fast enough to catch him

Y3l would see this. I bet he would login with another name if we ever get this implemented..

Range IP Banning = Very Very bad idea, should never have even been implmented.

Range Name Banning = Makes sense, but as long as its temp and run only from a command in game. If you're not quick enough to be able to go "Oh yeah, thats a spammer, he uses the same template for all his spamming accounts like this, lets /rangeban Y2llow_*****" then why the hell are you an admin?

How about not doing anything about this and just ban him when he does shit? We do have to have to be admin for something else..

Range name banning is useless on a cracked server, UUID Range ban, impossible. So...
