[EventWar] Suggestion: Prevent griefing in lands stolen via townblocks_switch_towns feature. #7308

Please explain your feature request to the best of your abilities:

I don't know the difficulty of this idea but adding a option for townblocks_switch_towns: true but disable the permission to place/break blocks in the taken plots until the war is over. This would give us a lot more usable options all while reducing griefingg.

Visual maps of claimed plots in a way (Dynmap, Squaremap etc) Resurrect plots could be used without having to worry about grief Resurrect delay could be used without grief

Would you consider adding this, Towny Event Wars is only missing a few thing to really make it unmatched. It's difficult for defending teams to know which plots are taken (helps on dynmap). Plus this will allow us to add the option to resurrect our plots without destruction from the opposing team.

This one is a bit complicated to add in cleanly.

The holograms are game changing, they have made war much better. As we are getting in to wars more players have been able to just "run" around a players base and capture it. We have no way of resurrecting plots without turning on grief. So eventually the attacking team just runs circles and grabs more and more plots. If a team could look on a map and visually find and heal their plots it would clean war up substantially.

If a team can grief another Town then it provides a shorter life span of a town and a server running Towny. You can enable griefing after conquering anyways. Although Idk why any one would.

Hopefully you consider adding it. I am more than happy for donate to the addition.

I don't understand why you say you have to have griefing enabled to get the fallen townblocks to resurrect their HP?

If a fallen town block is claimed by the opponent they can build and break inside of it correct? So essentially griefing, you can then fight or heal it but it is then destroyed.

If you also have the townblocks switch towns in use, then yes.

There is an option to prevent war zones having build/destroy done in it though. You can even make it affect residents.
