"normally" ?

note that old website has a font that is easy to read: old

Also new website without JS is not ~hard to read, but not as good as font on the old website: new no js

In comparison, font on new website with js on is simply horrible when it comes to how easy it is to read it.

I don't really see an issue here. However, if more people complain, then we might consider changing it.

Can reproduce, the text is a bit too thin, needs more boldness!

ProMcTagonist commented 9 years ago

It's very unfriendly, plus not at all accessible to people with vision problems.

DanTheBritish commented 9 years ago

It's all very modern and nice looking, but legibility is an issue on low resolution displays. It's so thin that it becomes a single pixel thick.

While I can still read it like that, it wouldn't take much of an eye problem to make it a more serious issue.

suhr commented 9 years ago

I'd prefer readability over “modern”.

The old font seems to be Google Lato (https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Lato), shouldn't be too hard to add in if that's the desired font.

ghost commented 9 years ago

Or, an alternative is to bolden the existing text. Makes a bit of a difference.

bold text

Wow +1 for bold, much better
