It happends when you use the last version at this moment of the library (8.2.1) downgrading to version 8.2.0 make it works with Angular 5. The version 8.2.1 breaks build with Angular 5.

I have to say that it only happends to me when using --prod flag

Hi, hopefully @alvarorodriguezestruch's suggestion worked for you.

We are moving to compile with Ivy, which means that the minimum supported version of Angular will be 12.
