Hello,

I've found your project and I'd like to be able to deploy it for use in a different country.

So far, most/all of the text on the website is German, and the categories are hardcoded to fit the German system.

I have my own personal fork, with changes made to the text and categories, but I think at least i18n should be implemented to make this easier.

Makes TransDB useful outside of Germany!

Translating the website or adding translations in the frontend does not make TransDB usable in other countries. A central part is the location and distance search, which is based on data we host ourselves and only contains data for Germany. For TransDB to work in another country, geodata needs to be created in a specific format.

The software is not intended to be hosted by third parties, and it is also not permitted without a written agreement. It is not something we are against all together, but it will need to be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

That is not a hard problem to solve though, I've successfully made it work on my local instance with the correct OSM data for my country.

This is odd and somewhat puzzling, as I don't understand why you've made the source code publicly accessible then, if you didn't intend people to host their own instances/contribute to the codebase. I know of this project because it was presented at rC3, and was expecting this project to be hacker-friendly.

But I take this as a message for me to stop what I'm doing, and just go work on my own project replicating the TransDB functionality. It's a shame, I was hoping to contribute to TransDB.

I'm sorry that you are disappointed now. But as already mentioned above, this would be possible with a specific agreement.

Just a note, you still might want to consider this as not all trans people in Germany speak german, and it'd make the website more accessible to those people.
