invalid (NULL) pointer instance when clicking on link with Linux #209

When clicking on a link in the Quick Compare Error Rate or Private FTP Upload with Linux there is a invalid (NULL) pointer instance or assertion 'result !=0' failed exception. This issue only seems to appear with Linux.
