v 4+ Closely review security rules in Firebase (and see if there is any way we can improve db security) #514

With the work done in #490 we had to add some new rules to the db which impact our security.

Google sends daily warnings now about this.

Goal of this ticket is to do some more research and see if there is anything we can do to improve security around the database.

(Ari will also email the security report out to Mony & @dddwj ).
