@imcgames so, should I consider this as an approval and continue my work on the app? I think I should be able to make a first version with editing over the weekend
So, I made a first preview version that can be downloaded, installed and run on win and mac. You can grab the binaries here. It's very early version, just for browsing and there's a lot of rough edges. And the size is pretty big. But all of that can be ironed out if there's interest in the app. Let me know what you think.
Uh, when you said "big", I thought you meant a bloat to 5 MB or something. What kind of hellish packages did you import to bloat it to 155 MB?
Anyway... with the CBT currently going on I'm guessing it's all hands on deck for everyone else right now. I'm not really paying attention either, for a few reasons. Depending on what happens, I might take a better look next week.
At the moment though it's not very different from just pairing two files in Notepad++ and syncing them up. I already have a few useful ideas for features, and from looking at the code it should be simple to add, but again - not now, the CBT's on.
@ensata it's more or less raw electron-shell. Not willing to put in time on optimization of something that might not be used here.
Hey everyone! I made a (prototype of) small standalone translation helper application here. Thought I'd put it up here for a discussion before proceeding with other functions. The idea is pretty simple:
First, app scans all the files in EnglishTranslation folder (which should be this cloned repository), pairs English and Korean versions up and displays a picker to user, like so:
After user selects a file, app presents a table with 3 columns: IDs, English text and Korean text, like so:
And to simplify finding untranslated things even more, there's an option "Hide translated" which, if enabled, hides all translated entries and makes the output look like so:
For the moment that's all the app does, but if there's interest in a tool like this, it'll be relatively easy to extend it do to the following things:
Is this something that'd be interesting for you?
