ECC SSL connectivity issue

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have a HTTPS reverse proxy server that used a ECC certificate 
(code.google.com also use the same type of certificate) in front of the daemon. 
2. Connect to it with latest version of Transmission Remote GTK.
3. The 'SSL connect error' error message will come out.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest stable version of transmission-remote-gtk, on Windows 8 64-bit.

Please provide any additional information below.

If I swap the ECC certificate to a RSA certificate, the program can connect to 
the reverse proxy just fine.

Hi,

SSL works OK for me (and has for a while), but there are a few recent reports 
of SSL validation failing, so I'm sure something is wrong. Perhaps it depends 
on the openssl or libcurl version.

Please could you let me know what openssl, libcurl, transmission-remote-gtk and 
distribution you are using?

I'll try to reproduce this and fix it soon.
