Crash when right clicking the helm after assembling craft

I made sure to give the craft the space it needs (going by the "invisible box" that generates when assembling) it is in a pretty tight berth though where the box is surrounded but nothing goes inside it, there are ladders and torches on the ship, could any of those be the problem?

update: I moved it from its berth and disassembled it then assembled it, left the UI and right clicked the helm again, it crashed again.

bumping this, relogging will fix the issue though, just have to remember to relog if you assemble and have to exit the UI for any reason.
