Big ship splits in half and is stuck #391

I built a huge ship in creative that is mostly balloons, but the ship fell when it turned into an entity. The ship displays as being broken in half, and the actual entity hitbox is between the two halves. The front half separated and is located far behind the back half. When getting into the ship entity, I can't really move the entity at all nor can I reassemble the ship. It also makes the game lag pretty bad, but no crashes yet. Any way to get the ship entity to reassemble or make it flyable again? If the answer to either of those is no, is there a way to remove the entity from the world?

Here's an image. Hopefully others can see it. The ship entity is right behind the back half of the ship. You can sit in it, but you get teleported to the front half, and you can't see or control the ship or assemble it at all. All you can do is exit with shift.
