This project aimed for enhancing the Minecraft Java Edition experience, but using the Bedrock-edition form format might help this project grow:
it's a "central" protocol that's widely recognized since it is official
it allows easy mixing of Java-edition and Bedrock-edition players in the same server
But it also has downsides:
it forces us to support and to continue to support that protocol
it limits us as to what we can do: we could no longer add any GUI element we please, it must also exist in the Bedrock edition, or we must add some backup support for it
