I wonder which open source games would be especially suitable for blind people?
Output and input would be via speech (text-to-speech and speech recognition are both available now) but also some kind of tactile input/output device maybe. Something like a playstation controller maybe?
And what genre would be best suited? Adventures or turn-based role-playing/strategy games. Puzzles and simulations might also work. Music and visual novels could actually be relatively easy. Action/platform/arcade games probably less. Multiplayer could work well. For adventures, one could even try an editor, i.e. an app that can be used to create a sound only adventure game with just using speech. Wouldn't that be something?
Need more research first:
what exists already?
what is desired/how to get in contact with testers?
maybe think about successful/famous games and how they can be adapted?
what are the exact requirements for the input and output, what is fun and which game ideas could actually be implemented?
