Introduction

U1 500-600 is what I believe to be the most barren part of the game. A lot of players do not get through this part. If we improve this part of the game, we may see more player retention. The idea is simple. 5 One-off challenges, each based around a time in early U1. And each rewarding a significant boost to the mechanic introduced in that part of the game.

U1 Timeless Challenges

5 new one-off challenges for U1 in the 500-600 zone range. Starting at 500, and unlocking every 20 zones after (500,520,540,560,580). Each challenge would represent a time in U1.

1-60: Timeless I

Challenge: Something revolving around block, so we could lose it, enemies get block, that sort of thing. Not too complicated as its the first Timeless challenge.

Reward: A percentage of Block is added to your attack (Ideally x5-x10 in total)

61-180: Timeless II

Challenge: This part of the game introduces quite a bit. However formations are a big part. Each formation could have a detrimental effect, or the enemy gains formations. Another big part of this time in the game are the helium challenges. Maybe the enemies could retain some of the challenges enemy modifications.

Reward: Each formation is empowered, and you can set formation on portal using shift+click. X boosts your attack and health by x2. H boosts your health by x16 but does not decrease your attack. D boosts your attack by x16. B increases the percantage of block added to your attack. S increases dark essence drops by x3. W increases all nature stack rate by x2.

181-230: Timeless III

Challenge: Two huge things happen in this period. Corruption and Spire. So maybe the challenge could revolve around the Spire, but the reward affect corruption as we have a lot of spire rewards already.

Reward: Specific masteries are empowered, 1 for each tier. You also earn x3 more dark essence.

231-235: Timeless IV

Challenge: A very short period of time, but also very important. Magma is extremely crucial to how we progress from this point on. Magma has a lot of facets to design a challenge around. More burning, maybe less housing, maybe more magma cells, harder overheating, or all of above!

Reward: Magmite drops is increased by x10. Dimgen upgrades cost scaling is decreased by 50%. Magma cells in world drop 10% of the zones XP.

236-300: Timeless V

Challenge: Nature focused. Maybe something around the every 15 zones nature cycling, or even enemies get their own nature effects.

Reward: All nature stacks rates increased by x2. Transfer of all natures increased by 5 levels. All nature power levels are worth double. Empowerments cost 50% less and descale 100% faster after starting a Daily.

Notes

Balancing U1 is a touchy subject of course, but I think getting more players into U2 would be a good thing for the game. The rewards seem extremely overpowered, but they kind of need to be, because this part of the game needs a lot of grind and its only fair its justly rewarded. Plus this all sounds really fun!

Personally, I don't really feel like 500-600 needs a buff as much as 600-700, the "wall" from getting capable 10 to beating spire 5 only took 9 days for me. (halloween maybe saved a day or two from more effective fillers) Love these concepts of making challenges based on different parts of the game though. Definitely feel like they should be used at some point, maybe even as a cooler alternative to cap off the universe than erad 186 is.
