This project named Online Book Sales - Backend deals with developing an e-commerce website for Online Book Sale. It provides the user with a catalog of different books available for purchase in the store. In order to facilitate online purchase, a shopping cart is provided to the user.
Description:
We need to enhance the user experience on our platform by making the search bar more prominent in the header. Currently, it lacks visibility, which may hinder users from easily finding content. Additionally, the homepage features an unclear and poorly chosen image that appears blurry and unprofessional. A high-quality, engaging image is essential for creating a visually appealing first impression.
Proposed Changes:
Search Bar: Move the search bar to a more visible location in the header and consider redesigning it for improved aesthetics.
Homepage Image: Replace the current image with a high-resolution, relevant visual that aligns with our brand identity.
These updates will enhance navigation and overall user engagement on the platform.
Use Case
Title: Improve Header Visibility and Homepage Visuals
Primary Actor: User (Learner)
Goal: To easily navigate the platform and access content while enjoying a visually appealing interface.
Preconditions:
User has accessed the homepage of the learning platform.
User is looking for specific content or resources.
Main Flow:
Search Functionality:
The user notices the search bar at the top of the header.
The search bar is clearly visible and easily accessible.
The user types in a query and quickly finds relevant content.
Homepage Engagement:
The user views the homepage, which features a high-resolution, engaging image that reflects the platform's mission.
The visually appealing design captures the user’s interest, encouraging them to explore further.
Postconditions:
The user successfully finds the content they were looking for.
The improved visuals enhance the user's overall experience, leading to increased engagement with the platform.
Exceptions:
If the search bar is still not prominently displayed, users may struggle to find content.
If the homepage image remains blurry or irrelevant, users may have a negative first impression, potentially leading them to leave the site.
Conclusion: Implementing these changes will significantly improve user satisfaction and engagement, making the platform more inviting and user-friendly
Benefits
Enhancing the search bar's visibility and redesigning it will significantly improve user navigation, making it easier for visitors to find content quickly and efficiently. A more prominent and aesthetically pleasing search bar not only streamlines the user experience but also encourages engagement, reducing the frustration of searching for specific items. Additionally, replacing the current blurry and unprofessional homepage image with a high-quality, relevant visual will create a stronger first impression, reinforcing the platform’s credibility and brand identity. These changes will increase user satisfaction, encourage longer site visits, and ultimately boost engagement and retention.
