Big File Sizes

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to a website
2. Click on the chrome-screen-capture button
3. Select capture visible content
4. Click on save
5. Enter the filename
6. Press Cmd + W to close the browser tab

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Usually the file size for a 1000  x 750 image is in the range of few hundred 
KBs.
Sometimes, the file for png format will go to 20+ MB.
The image is viewable except that the file size is very big.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I am using version 5.0.3 on Google Chrome 15.0.874.121 running on Mac OS X 
10.7.2 (Lion)

Please provide any additional information below.
I suspect that this error is due to memory residue as it comes after I capture 
a lot of screenshots.

I have this same problem. It's very odd and rather frustrating, if you want to 
include these images in things. I have to go open and save every image.

I have this problem too. What is  the reason? I have png files with 13MB for a 
simple screenshot, while other screenshots are just 50kb? It makes my 
powerpoints really huge...

I have same problem, Chrome 20.0.1132.47 - Screen Capture 5.0.4, I see a dead 
tab display for split of second after clicking save on save file dialog and the 
file size is always 20 - 30 MB in size if that happen, sometimes the size is 
normal if that thing doesn't happen(dead tab)

Same for me, using Chrome and Chromium and it is aleatory, sometimes is 13 mb, 
sometimes more than 300 mb for the same screen

Same. I have this problem since I started using Chrome one year ago. It makes 
Screen Capture unusable.

This is a very big problem for me. Literally. Several times I've captured a 
site I'm working on and it's generated a PNG size of 1GB and another 4GB. 
That's ridiculous! Is there any resolution here?
