Any way to implement these feature using native WiFi connection or 4G/5G connection?

Is it possible? Maybe.

It's highly dependent on if Talhreth left the network functionality of the core untouched, which knowing him he may have stripped out for performance reasons. We've only started modding the core itself with some reverse engineering, so if it's possible to enable with minor effort, it may be a future feature. If it requires a mountain of work to implement, it probably won't happen

Out of curiosity, mainly just as a check in, do we have an idea on if this development has changed or if it has been looked into? It doesn't seem like a bad idea to have internet functionality, so long as the networking functionality is still intact. I'm hoping so, since many old online games would be wonderful (yet probably insanely difficult) to run through the emulator.
