Please fill out the following information:

Problem Disc:Band Hero and Wii Sporys Resort
--------------------------------------------------
Disc Region:North America
Wii Region:Korea
cIOS Version:

Which SoftChip revision are you using? R99m
------------------------------------------------

Please describe the issue you're having
I live in Doha, Qatar and bought an original Korean version of the Wii
console that is suppose to play NTSC, PAL and "recorded version" format
games. It came with Wii SoftChip R99M preloaded and I have no need at the
moment how to be able to play backed up games. At the same time, I don't
want to lose the ability in the future should I need it. I have bought
two original games from North America, Band Hero and Sports Resort and
when I insert either game, the Wii wants to perform a "system update". I
assume that if I choose to do so I will loose the softchip. I have no
idea idea what this is all about but would like to learn. Can anybody
help me get the latest version of the softchip so I don't have to update
my system to play these original games?

Please provide any additional information below.

If a game disc updates to 4.1 or lower, then you could reinstall everything
after the
update. Since you have a region changed korean Wii, your Wii would be bricked
if you
do an update to 4.2 or higher. And your Wii is region changed to either PAL or
NTSC-U, if you would install an update for the other region, you would get
problems
too. The best way for you is updating to the correct 4.1 system menu and getting
priiloader and a skip disc update hack. But that's not a SoftChip issue.
