Weather App?

aymenbelarbi commented 7 years ago

An AI in a Chrome Extension that learns your interests from your browsing history, keeps crawling the web and whenever something, which is highly interesting for you, gets posted on the Internet it summarizes it and put in a notification on your smart watch, the moment you are in a line or not moving. For the last part I would suggest the Google Awareness API.

carmaHowlett commented 7 years ago

@aymenbelarbi Your idea sounds awesome, I'd love a Chrome Extension like that.

Future project idea: A random font generator for designers. Something similar to the Chrome Extension - Palettab

Also, the ability to see and copy the HEX code to your clipboard would be rad for the Hex Color Generator!

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@julianorafael Weather tutorial is almost done! Most probably will be out tonight :)

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@aymenbelarbi very interesting idea.. there will def be a chrome extension tuorialt. I will work on it- it's added to the README

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@carmaHowlett Yes, I will pursue that idea very soon.

The font generator sounds interesting. As far as the hex code copying, there's a library for that! it's called clipboard.js

complxalgorithm commented 7 years ago

I will be adding a tutorial for the calculator app I developed. It'll take time since final exams week is coming up but I'm sure I'll be able to contribute it within the next few weeks.

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@complxalgorithm thanks!

@aymenbelarbi Can AI be done in the browser?

maitreyav commented 7 years ago

A simple PWA with features like add to home screen, splash screen, offline, push notifications, background sync etc

harsh183 commented 7 years ago

I think you should have a wikipedia viewer

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@harsh183 I experimented with this -- https://wiki.shamdasani.org feel free to check out the source code!

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@maitreyav Progressive Web App? Have you used Google Polymer? And yes, push notifications will be coming soon :)

harsh183 commented 7 years ago

@samayshamdasani Wow! Looks great. I think the styling of the search results can be improved, but otherwise, it's great.

As for the styling

Also for the article view,

But great job, I am quite impressed!

harsh183 commented 7 years ago

@samayshamdasani Also, do you have any plans of having backend projects. I can try putting a few Ruby on Rails tutorials if you think is a good idea.

shamdasani commented 7 years ago

@harsh183 sounds awesome!

Interactive coding? You could take ideas from the tutorial on the html, css, js tutorial, but I'm not sure how code checking would work. Also you'll have to be careful about making sure that people are learning and not just copying

IDEAs Platform

Ornataweaver commented 6 years ago

Setting desirable previews for links is one of the most important things on the web at this era. check https://github.com/elegantmonkeys/daily/issues/7

Ornataweaver commented 6 years ago

You are making a very useful Platform here. I see too much potential. I also feel like you think the way I do. You are making very useful blocks of puzzle which will make the most brilliant Arts of pragmatism. Chat with me if you do so. I have good pieces of puzzle. >:D

shamdasani commented 6 years ago

@ninja542 That's one of my long term goals, but right now it would simply cost so much for servers and I'm not sure how the site would protect users from running malicious code :/

shamdasani commented 6 years ago

@Ornataweaver Thank you! I'd be glad to chat. Would you be interested in contributing some tutorials?

Ornataweaver commented 6 years ago

I like that you keep it simple, so I disagree with having interactive code as @ninja542 says to some degree. As for having servers you can use ZeroNet technology, which makes torrent sites called zites; The more viewers you have the smoother it gets! As for security the code will be run on user side, you won't have to worry about it.

Ornataweaver commented 6 years ago

I definitely would like to contribute as much as I'm capable. Do you have a gitter channel?

Ornataweaver commented 6 years ago

I found you, it has started :dancer: https://gitter.im/tryenlight/enlight
