I added the possibility for the user to add their own translation file in the locales folder.

Main changes

Created the locales folder on root of theme.
I adapted the necessary files with the {{t}} helper.
Added pt-BR.json with Brazilian traduction.

Perfect. I didn't notice that there was already a pull request for this functionality.

You're very welcome to translate the theme or release your own translated themes! We're not ready to include translations by default in the theme at the moment.
