Better way to display community settings and community switcher #2020

the community settings for desktop and mobile are in different places, and not standard. a user went to the community switcher for settings, since it wasn't clear. what's a solution for this?

We explored a few things here originally and it might be worth revisiting them.

Let's make the switcher icon more "stack-like" in response to user feedback.

I got feedback on the latest and the user wanted something even more extreme. Like they want to be able to see color underneath the main icon in the shadows.

I think we should try one more extreme version that has some hint of color squares / shadows underneath the main icon and then get feedback on all of them.

Update: Actually we're going to not go farther with this and wait to see if it comes up.

@jgaylor can we update the clickable prototype to include the "down arrow" community switcher design, so we can make sure it's clear?
