We only display messages from peers we know about (CSR or certificate exists), yet the channel preview on mobile (main screen where you can select a channel) shows the latest message from each channel regardless if we know about the peer. So the channel preview can show the message 'Hi', but when you click on the channel, that message doesn't show up in the actual channel.
