Volcano Biome: An "underground" biome made up of lava caverns and all that fun stuff, with a volcano poking out at the surface so you see where it is. I guess you could technically make this a structure, but it would be cool as a biome since you could make the sky darken in the biome to indicate smoke (is that possible?).
Just wanted to point out the darkened sky could be done with a structure too, albeit a bit more complicated than just making it a biome.
Also, labricon gen doesn't really fit celeve imo. Maybe if it's a lot more cramped and has less pathways to choose from.
Wow this new aoa biomes
for celeve i recomend taking inspiration from the crazy carnevil from dark deception
This isn't some advanced thesis on how these will philosophically impact gameplay, these are just ideas that I think will make the dimensions cooler. It's not just biomes, it's also just general generation stuff. Since this will happen somewhere in 1.18+, this is assuming you can customize max y levels per-dim, so hopefully I'm not wrong on that.
Any relations to 2.5 biomes are coincidental
Barathos General Generation: Would be nice for y levels to get expanded, and as a result have the Hellstone layer be expanded into more of an underground biome instead of this squished thing at the bottom layer.
Underground Hive biome: Instead of being a crappy sphere, Hive nest could become its own smaller underground biome. The Hive workers/Tharaflies could spawn there naturally and stuff.
Deeplands Ice Cavern Biome: Finally, ice content, and it doesn't need to be a whole goddamn dimension. The generation would be similar to cavern depths, but horizontally more thin, like a ravine. Huge chunks of ice would obviously be all over the place, and there can even be icicle formations on the ceiling.
World's Bottom: Compared to cavern depths, this biome would be lower in the ground and have a lower ceiling, almost like a dip in the ground. The biome would be more "humid", with puddles of water around. Maybe dripstone or an equivalent could spawn here.
Precasia General Generation: Precasia Tall Forest really should have rivers/lakes/waterfalls. Also, the underground could have huge fossils generate in it, maybe there could rarely be huge open caves with these fossils in full sight.
Fossil Desert Biome: It is a desert, but it is a bit more rocky-canyon themed, with fossils and bones spread all around. (Ignore the balloons in this image this is from diddy kong racing I just like how it looks)
Precasian Swamp Biome: It's a swamp. Think vanilla swamp, but more exaggerated. Also, Meganeuropsis would spawn more frequently here.
Abyss General Generation: Abyss needs to have its y levels way increased, I also want to see big ravines that go all the way from the surface to the bottom, along with huge caves.
Flesh Mass Biome: A biome that leans far more into the body horror aspect, though it could also mainly be an underground biome.
Celeve --General Generation: I was gonna make this its own git post, but I will try to keep it short. I want to see Celeve go from a clown dimension to a bizarre night carnival dimension. Like the ones you see on docks. I'm imagining floating islands connected by wooden bridges/docks. These islands would contain a "biome" or carnival-related structure.--
PLAN B: If nothing else works for Celeve, maybe it can be reduced down to a specialized funhouse maze dimension. It would play differently from the other dimensions. Imagine if Labricon's gen concept was used for a bizarre funhouse dimension, wouldn't that be something. I'm beginning to like this one more.
Gardencia Rooted Plateau Biome: Similar to Floral islands, but it is higher off the ground. There isn't stone directly under it, instead the island "floats" via being held up by big roots that touch the ground below. Can be mainly found above big bodies of water.
Thorn Tunnels Biome: Underground biome with thorny tendrils and roots everywhere.
Giga Bush Biome: Rare biome, take a bush and make it very macro. It would essentially a giant mass of wood and leaves you can climb around on, it would also be quite tall.
Mysterium General Generation: Underground could definitely use more foliage, the shape is nice, but it's a bit barren. Also, the surface could use the rare giant mushroom, but that's just me.
Mystic Grove Biome: Compared to Fungal caverns, Mystic grove would be a lot more blue and wonderland-esque. With more grassy foliage, it could also be a very vague precursor to Runandor. Maybe the Portal Hollow could be more frequent here.
Pandemonic Dream Biome: A more distorted version of Fungal caverns with far more wild generation, with stuff like the giant mushrooms being upside down. Maybe you could even have low gravity in this biome, along with visual special effects to add to the distorted theme.
Vox Ponds General Generation: Maybe there could be large rare craters that open up the underground lake.
Former Ocean Biome: An ocean of toxic waste, with land being more infrequent compared to Vox Wastes.
Old City Biome: A ruined, metallic city. Maybe the more "robotic" mobs would be frequent here compared to the other biomes. Destructor could even be moved here and become a dedicated hazard (no relation to Warden).
Greckon Haunted Forest Biome: A haunted forest. Mainly one that resembles this image because I like these types of trees.
L'Borean General Generation: I think ruined ships will work for L'Borean too, unless it clashes with the "lore". Also, the y level should be increased for a biome I'll get to in a bit.
Calm Waters Biome: A high biome that is closer to the ceiling, there is less coral and the ground is sandy.
Coral Maze Biome: Coral is far more frequent and taller, effectively making a huge mass of it for you to weave and swim through.
Drop-Off Biome: This is effectively a ""beach"" biome for L'Borean, separating the other biomes from the deeper area past the drop-off.
Boreal Trench: This is the aforementioned deep area, it is an extremely open area that goes far, far down to really further the fear of deep waters. All the way at the bottom would be ravines with cave systems. This is also the biome the y level should be increased for, so it's extra deep. Maybe Angler could be moved here.
Shyrelands Holy Heights Biome: This biome would resemble depictions of Mt. Olympus from Greek mythology. The mountains themselves would be quite high, with Shyre clouds surrounding the peaks. Maybe the structures with pillars like Divine ritual temple, Shyre mausoleum, and Temple of the sun could be moved here.
Shyre Empyrean Biome: This biome has no land, it is an open area leading to the void, with several small floating islands stretching from the bottom of the world to the world height, kind of like Lunalus' asteroid belt. The islands would be very frequent, so it's not too brutal for what is effectively a void biome.
