every time i try to play any source engine game (half life 2 and portal 2) with vulkan rendering, it fails to start, this didn't happen few months ago at the start of the year. even though i can still play with opengl rendering, it performs much better with vulkan.
i have tried reinstalling linux mint (im using the latest version) multiple times and verifying the integrity of the files as well, also tried updating mesa drivers, all to no avail
there is an open issue that is similar to my case, https://github.com/Tsuey/L4D2-Community-Update/issues/327 i have also disabled the steam overlay, but it just doesn't work
