Hi Shekn!

As an old Mental R user from the early 1990th I wanted to give your 2.1.3 Cycles Implementation a try. But run into *.dll error messages. Not to figure out why.

I run a Softimage 2015 R2 (plus first service pack) on a WIn7 64 SP1, with all Visual C++ Reditributables up to 2022 installed. No matter if installing into Softi R2 User folder or into a workgroup, I get Error messages with the SyclesPlugin.dll, the Sycles_OpenEXR_Core.dll and the Sycles_openimageio.dll : "Procedure couldn´t be found in library", followed by ...User Path to the mentioned .dlls. and followed by "The library will not be loaded." The Sycles Addon does not show up in the Render Menu.

The "Lib" folder, contained in the packed 2.1.3 addon file, that is placed in the plugins directory during install, has the same content as the one that is downloadable separatly. I tried both diffenent lib folders, but no difference.

The alternatively tested 1.12 Version of Sycles is working properly. But for me the 2.1.3 sucks in my environment.

You think there´s a chance to fix it?

Best regards Anco

Sycles addon required OpenEXR and OpenImageIO libraries. It fails to load corresponding dll-s, so the addon is not working. Both of OpenEXR and OpenImageIO are quite complex and required another libraries. Your system fails to find these requirements. It's not clear why it happens. May be because the system is Win7. In any case, there is a program Dependency Walker which allows to find what is missing. Try to run it in your system. May be it will allows to find what system library additionally should be placed into distributive folder.

Hi Shekn!

Thank you very, very much that you took your time to answer to my question. I will go the way you suggested and try dependency warker. It was my silent idea too, that win7 might be the reason for the issue. Yes, developments are going on and one day there is a need to switch to newer generation... If I can fix it I will let you know for info purposes.

Have a good time and thanks again for the time you took.
