By default only the grid with the name velocity loaded to the velocity attribute of the volume object. But vdb object can contains grids with other names (for example simply v) as velocity grid. So, it will be helpful to add additional parameter to the VDBPrimitive which allows to select custom name for the velocity grid.
This approach implemented in the Blender. It also allows to scale the motion blur effect.
