Wiresock WireGuard VPN Client is running already - Unknown Error starting WireSock process #80

Closed SilverZCrow closed 1 year ago

For some reason whenever I tried to Enable the tunnels this issue occurs.

First of all it says client is running already and then after a while it says Unknown error starting WireSock process.

Reinstalling, reconfiguring the WG tunnels, different tunnels, all same issue.

Did you already have the WireSock installed prior to installing TunnlTo? Can you try the following please:

SilverZCrow commented 1 year ago

I didn't.

I tried uninstalling both and then installed TunnlTo. Same issue.

Can you try launching WireSock directly from the command line please:

  1. Open TunnlTo and Enable the tunnel (this will save the config file to disk)
  2. Disable the tunnel and close TunnlTo
  3. Open a command prompt and issue the following commands (make sure you alter the username in the second command):
    cd C:\Program Files\WireSock VPN Client\bin
    wiresock-client.exe run -config C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\TunnlTo\tunnel.conf -log-level all

And can you post up your TunnlTo config (with private/public key etc. removed)

Apologies for the delay

Okay I can't see anything out of the ordinary there. What language is your Windows installation set to?

I've created a special debug build of the application that can be downloaded here: https://github.com/TunnlTo/desktop-app/releases/download/v0.1.7/TunnlTo_0.1.7_x64_en-US-debug.msi

It will open the app with a console window showing some background information. Can you screenshot the information from the console window when you experience the error please.

English

The first image shows a console when the tunnel doesn't work properly

The second image is another tunnel configuration that works

Does the first tunnel (the one that isn't working) work with the standard windows client? It looks like it isn't receiving a handshake response.

Can you try this updated version of the debug build: https://github.com/TunnlTo/desktop-app/releases/download/v0.1.7/TunnlTo_0.1.7_x64_en-US-debug-2.msi to see what the console shows.

So I tried all the other tunnels that are not working, on the standard client. As you said, it seems like it's not receiving a handshake response.

I have multiple conf files, only a handful are working properly. So I'll filter them out.

Thank you for your patience while dealing with this, I appreciate it
