v0.1.2 crashes instantly when launched #9

When launching v0.1.2 of TunnlTo installed from the release page, the window appears for a second but then the program exits by itself. v0.1.1 works fine.

Also tried deleting %localappdata%\com.tunnl.to and %localappdata%\TunnlTo but the problem still exists.

Hey thanks for reporting the issue. A couple of questions for both people:

I've updated the v0.1.2 release to note there may be an issue. I will look into creating a new debug build tomorrow that will help diagnose the issue.

twMisc commented 1 year ago

I think the issue is related to the system language settings since I was able to use v0.1.2 normally after setting my language to English or Japanese.

Were you previously running v0.1.1 or did you do a fresh install of v0.1.2?

I did an update from v0.1.1, but the issues also occur with a fresh install.

Do you have your system set to English language?

No, my system was set to Chinese (Traditional).

Did you previously have WireSock installed?

I did install WireSock previously.

I put a new release up that should fix this issue: https://github.com/TunnlTo/desktop-app/releases/tag/v0.1.3

It has been tested on a virtual machine with Chinese traditional language (which was a pita as I don't know Chinese!) and it was working okay.

I think there may still be issues with using Chinese traditional language in the tunnel parameters - i.e. where you save details about the tunnel in the create tunnel form. Could you let me know if you experience those issues? Specifically if you "click" edit on a tunnel and then try to delete it.

First thanks for your effort in solving this issue :D v0.1.3 also works on my system.

On the other problem, if you try to name a tunnel using Chinese characters, similar to #5, it can not be deleted. But it also can't be edited properly. If you try to edit such a tunnel, all the parameters will have the value "undefined", as the attached image file shows. Otherwise, i.e. if the tunnel is named in English, I haven't found any issues.

Okay, I will close this issue and will keep track of that issue in https://github.com/TunnlTo/desktop-app/issues/5
