custom field to enable comments and pingbacks doesn't seem to be necessary #139

What steps will reproduce the problem?
The documentation explains that you need to enter a custom field of
comments and any value to enable comments on pages.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sandbox 1.6 on WordPress 2.7.

Please provide any additional information below.
You can enable or disable comments and pingbacks by default in the admin
panel under Settings - Discussion and you can enable and disable them for
each post and page when creating or editing them so the custom field
doesn't seem to be necessary.
