10 years ago I really don't know how I missed this for so long, I'm really sorry for taking so long to notice this pull request...
Seems to me that for various reasons the same issue has been resolved in any case (probably when migrating to boostrap3) can you confirm that now everything works as expected for the Jinja quickstart?
The line of code that included bootstrap javascript was still a Genshi instruction, changed to the appropriate Jinja2 equivalent.
This fixes issue #5
