'Shared' tab is not listed when Rhythmbox is launched from Gnome 'Applications' menu

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch Rhythmbox from 'Applications' menu
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ampache plugin under 'Shared' in left panel, instead the 'Shared' tab, and
therefore the Ampache plugin, is not listed (although the plugin is listed
in the 'plugins' menu).

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
Things work fine if RB is launched from the command line; the problem
appears to be related to Gnome.  This occurs in at least Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04.

Just to be clear, this only occurs with r16.

The change to the cache file location made in r19 seems to have resolved this 
problem.
