Twidere posts whatever picture tweet you post to ALL accounts no matter what you do #1175

Using only Twitter accounts, no proxy, nothing special. Latest version of Twidere available on f-droid. Running LineageOS 16.x.

Whenever I try to post a tweet through Twidere, whether from another app (ex: "share" functionality) or through composing a tweet with Twidere itself, it posts the tweet to ALL my accounts, without letting me choose which accounts to target, without warning, and without an easy way to delete the tweet.

Even more surprising: even if disabling the accounts (all except one) in the Twidere settings, the issue still occurs, it still posts to those accounts.

This has disastrous consequences for anyone managing accounts for work, but even beyond that: there is never a moment where I actually want to post the same tweet to multiple accounts, it just doesn't make sense, the contexts are wildly different with each account.

Just to be clear, the icon in the bottom left of the submission box doesn't have a number in it, correct? It just shows your account's avatar? If it does have a number, just click that and then you can enable/disable accounts for the tweet to be sent.

this should probably be closed, no response

Sorry, I thought I had answered this. As far as I remember yes, that was as you described. There really was no indication that it would target multiple accounts, and no way to tell it not to.

I don't really have the flexibility to be testing this "just to see if it happens that way / just for fun" as I'm handling corporate/project/brand accounts and you can't exactly be sending out test tweets and then scambling to go across 5-10 accounts with another app to delete them...

sorry, but when trying apps that you are not familiar with it's always recommended to have accounts you can use to test them and try them out, before actually using them in your business. Some apps may not provide the features you need or may have bugs like this one

If you need more accounts, if you have a gmail, you can sign up with that same email, you just need to replace gmail with googlemail.

Sometimes you may be the only one that can experience this bug, this makes it difficult for others to verify this bug and offer assistance in fixing it.

I know this isn't the best answer, but the dev is focusing on TwidereX, and no one else has found this issue (which may be a good sign that it has been fixed already).

Note: I'll say though, that the feature of disabling accounts is very unclear. It works, but it's meant to only affect the timeline, messages, and notifications. Twidere's learning curve is not short because of things like this, it's just unclear at times. I think this will be fixed in TwidereX
