More accounts: Diaspora* and Movim #796

Hi, I've just updated Twidere to be able to use my Mastodon account. I thought it was worth asking if you could add Diaspora* and Movim to the list of available accounts.

Thank you anyway for this awesome app!

mariotaku commented 7 years ago

Seems Diaspora* doesn't have a client side API yet, for Movim, seems it has completely different protocol and structures. Twidere has platform independent structure for social platforms, so if you know how to link to those instances, fell free to open a pull request.

Its a bad idea adding them I think, we should think about making the services that we have work instead of adding new ones

walrus543 commented 7 years ago

You're right and I no longer use these services. Twitter and Mastodon, that's enough.

alugarius commented 7 years ago

Same here, I used diaspora too but mastodon is just quick

annando commented 7 years ago

Diaspora has a purpose as well and it would be great if this could be added - but the missing API is the blocker.

BTW: Diaspora and Mastodon aren't really comparable, I think.

If it's any consolation, you can follow diaspora users on GNU Social. I don't think they receive your replies or likes, however.

Movim uses XMPP for federation, while Diaspora uses

annando commented 6 years ago

Diaspora doesn't use OStatus nor ActivityPub. It used its very own protocol.
